What is Evil "I'm not sure what evil is and I'm too busy doing it to find out." I make this statement to shed light on the existence of evil in this world, and it will continue to exist as a result of people making too many bad or wrong choices, while God has given us a conscience to help us make good or right choices. This world becomes full of good and bad as we make personal and collective choices, even though we are not personally at fault if we ourselves do not commit evil, such as killing, telling lies, cheating, abusers, thieves, adultery, abortion, fornicators, gay marriage; we are collectively at fault if we don't identify and speak up when something is wrong, that in itself is evil, to not call evil what it is, this is why we, if we are following the word of God and not given over to a reprobate mind, have a fully functioning conscience, in which we have been given the ability to make good choices, with a pure heart, and all will be well with our soul. Thank God that His Son Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead to deliver us from evil. Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I will FEAR NO EVIL; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff; they comfort me. "You sent Your Son to take our sins and shame, our Father in Heaven Holy is Your name." from the song "Avinu Malkenu". from the CD "Shema Yisrael", or "Hear O Israel" Artist: Ken Sears from Discovering The Jewish Jesus. |

Evil is lawlessness. We know from where it began (the 'lawless one') and we know to where it is going. If we live according to the law and keep God's commandments (the 'lawgiver), we are promised to be saved from the turmoil and tragedy leading up to the 'Day of the Lord'. Removing 'evil' from our ways and deeds is what we as individuals can do. Only Almighty God has the power to destroy the evil that was loosed upon mankind. Very exciting days ahead. Good, inspiring post James. She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

Don't know where along my spiritual line I picked it up, but my understanding of evil is anything that separates us from God. That would make evil very personal and different for everyone. Also one person's evil is not necessarily ours. Say alcohol, for example. Even religion can become evil when it strays from teaching what Jesus would do and instead seeks to vilify others and separate us. ~L |

You may have "picked it up" in Isaiah Miss Lori. In chapter 59, verse 2. Check it out. quote: It is my opinion that your understanding is exactly right. At a glance, some might call your comment a generalization. If that be true, its a most specific 'generalization', oxymoronic (my bad) or not. Now its my turn to say, "I like your way of thinking". 88's friend She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

Lori. I am not identifying any individual, I am pointing out that we are all sinners and need a Savior, and to answer your question about what would Jesus do, He has already done it, He died and took the sins of the World upon Himself and He wants every man and woman to repent for their sins, receive His forgiveness, and to receive Him as their Savior...that is only the beginning of a new life with Him and the Holy Spirit of God...james |
