It was the winter before they came home beforer the ice began to melt before each part of their cheeks, hair, lips and legs began to feel the brisk, moist air You could feel the neighborhood touch their skin that night. It was a long trip home frop Upstate. Conversation came and went until silence seemed to grow louder and louder And then, just like the old neighborhood trees the same cut lawns, bikes that lay on the ground waiting for the sun to move past the moons yawn they saw their familiar driveway, once again. First their index, then their pinky fingers began to move away from one another and they were at peace again. Smiling at one another, even if their faces seemed too tired to show it. |

I love the way this poem has so much more to it than first meets the eye. The more you read it the more the mind builds a story around your very descriptive action and reactions they have. You stir the imagination and throw out all the building blocks for a very engaging story. ~L |

Saw our family coming home from a camping trip. NO ice cold then as we camped in summer. But played games along the way to keep their minds busy. One day one of the children spotted a cat sitting in the window of a house we past and from then on they kept looking for a cat in the window. Enjoyed because no matter how much fun we had, we always looked forward to coming home. Jo |
