Logs, Fogs and other Flotsam

(from Faces of Love)

Camera in hand –

Seventy-five miles south
of home
on the coast
of saltwater depths –
white-rimmed waves
rushing,
gulls, Sanderlings, Plovers
and other birds
I cannot name,
chasing them back to sea,
back into the slowly receding
morning fog.

You're beautiful
in the shot I take
with the water
rushing over your toes,
the wind wrapping your hair
around your smile,
the fog muting the back ground
with gray,
my love for you
more than bountiful today.

Sea Shells,
a walk on the beach,
driftwood,
holding hands,
touching lips,
loving, being alive -

Inner-thoughts silently
sending a thrill
from our hearts,
down our arms,
through our hands,
to the souls at either end . . .
and on the wind,
to touch, to caress,
our skin.

Logs, Fogs and other Flotsam,
you and me,
an idyllic time
to be in Love.

Beautifully rendered, Jimmy, well done and all that. To have a love such as you described is the very best thing a man can have. Nothing gives us the feel of knowing the woman we love loves us back. Wonderfully penned, man . . .

Jimmy,
This is a great poem! A sea shore snap shot at its best! My favorite thing about it is that you could be speaking of a new love. Knowing it is a vintage romance is priceless!

I can just see the images you are painting with your words - early walks on sandy shores, birds flying around - what better time and place to be in love.  enjoyed.
