is it possible even plausible to finally run out of words can your river of nouns and adverbs etc be staunched by unseen pressure like a cataract covering the brain where I once was vigorous and words flowed like tears from women even though they were most times plebeian I find myself these days stalled at the door of the next great novel why ah, that is the question do I need diversion a three-week drunk to restart my wordflow maybe physical, sexual comfort a woman think it could be that simple seat myself behind the wheel of the Taurus head west maybe stopping along the way at old boot-hill cemeteries reading the weathered inscriptions on the wooden tombstones yes I would like that yes get me out of the rut I seem to be in see new people different landscapes where before I felt great hubris I am now timorous to a fault old age has it finally settled around my bones can it be curbed or have I come to life's passage where languor is the order of the day and nights ah maybe, just maybe I should not resist this natural phenomenon sit back relax it is merely nature taking its course no! I shan't surrender to torpid interpretation and the dulling of the senses a trip westward maybe I'd like that have to acquire a laptop to record my journey it is a germ of an idea this westward trip
is it possible even plausible to finally run out of words

You were on such a roll Jerry, I thought you were about to answer your own question.
Keen and insightful writing, if not introspective.
Writers block coming down?
I had that once myself and you know what I did?
I wrote about it.
(P.S. I don't suspect any of us will run out of words. When we're near the edge we'll just create some more).

Thanks, Bluesy, I really think I have run out of words, especially when it comes to writing another novel. I'm still chooglin' along with poetry, however.~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~

It certainly hasn't happened yet, don't kid yourself. Love the "cataract covering the brain" reference, very novel.
And your words don't just pour on the page here, they are descriptive and succinct, though not terse. Enjoyed!Whether on the shoal or on the shore, I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

there are only so many words arent there my friend.. i guess its the combinations we put them in that gets harder sometimes..
my problem is balance.. too many words and not enough time..
its a curse i tell you..

Westward Ho! Sometimes a change of scenery helps you sort out the wheat from the chaff so to speak. Sometimes we go away thinking we are leaving something behind only to find it came with us. A road trip, short or long, can be good for the soul my friend.

Ahhh . . . Wishful thinking. The Taurus isn't to be trusted for trips, the money isn't there for them either. Heh.Heh Westward Ho! Indeed. Maybe when the lottery money comes in.~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~

Maybe you need to revisit Mardi Gras this year to write your next novel entitled Wesdward ho! You are not to old for dreams hopes and fears so you still have novel fodder. Somehow I don't even see Death silencing you.
