With the world consumed by misery, it was no great shakes. Just a fledgling, hen sparrow that my son brought home. 'Can we teach her to fly, dad?' No, of course we couldn't, but he didn't need to know that. So we soaked some bread in water, and dripped it into her beak. She flicked her head: more from the shock of the water than an act of resuscitation. 'Look, dad, she is getting better, isn't she?' 'Well, she seems to be , son.' She was dead before he found her, I knew that. But I warmed deeply to his kindness, and envied him his faith. (Some years ago now, but I'll not forget. And the opening lines, sadly, seem always of the day.) |

Deeply poignant write, dear Redstart. You have acted so delicately, that was beautiful. We want to postpone the impact with the world's pains ... You brought back memories from my childhood with this poem. Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

She was dead before he found her, because I knew she couldn't survive. I'd been there, seen it. Just teaching children in a soft way. They have enough shite coming. |

I love to be with a child who shows his love. Over the years I have met many and remember them. Some I only saw once or twice but the memory is still within my heart. We had six children, but we also went camping and met more kids and I was also a Den mother. Boys are the sweetest beings as they learn and grow and teach adults with out their even knowing it. Thank you for sharing this. Jo |
