The Grief Process |

I will grieve the loss of my hatred Not because my heart yearns for it, like a lover lost - or a child taken My heart grieves because I know that this hatred, this act of never forgetting, of never going forward Was the only form of justice, the only kind of vengence, I'm likely to see But my heart is heavy, and my heart is empty, because there's no peace in me So I'll start the process, the grief process Truly I'll grieve either way, but I'd rather it be for what was.. And not what could have been I think our capacity for wholeheartedness can never be greater than our willingness to be broken-hearted." Brene Brown |

Well written indeed. I can feel your realisation that hatred is futile and self-harming. Yes, it can divert the grief, but only into anger. Good luck, top post. |

It is difficult to render hatred harmless, but I fought that battle and rendered it not exactly harmless, but enough in that direction that I am now able to handle it with relative ease. Welcome to AD. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

You're so right there. Hatred is mere self-destructive, eats at your very core. It takes a strong will to move on and beyond it. Good for you. |

Welcome to Passions in Poetry! You really have put passion into this first poetic offering. Peace will occur only if one is able to let go and to forgive (others and ourselves). Hatred is no doubt some kind of "deviation" we have all experienced in certain moments, but it leads nowhere and the sooner we realize this the better. The future begins now. Margherita |

It is hard to let go of "what could have been" when we believe it held promise for us. You are wise and brave to let go. I've known a few who could not. Your journey will give you poetry fodder. We look forward to you sharing with us again. |

Welcome to Passions. I hope you will be here a long time as you grieve, and relieve yourself of the very same by the process of poetry. It is/can be very cathartic. Please, check your email for a very special greeting! "The business of the poet...is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things." May a new world open up to you as you bury those past thoughts of anger.Life is so much kinder when we allow it to softly enter good thoughts into our own hearts.Best to you and welcome too, Jo Perry |
