The Rag and Bone Man Sixty years have come and gone to who knows where or why, as a traceless lifetime slips away. I walk alone, a rag and bone man, amid a sea of vast indifference through cold and silent moonlit shadows, trailing a ponderous ball and chain of accumulated ignorance. Perhaps the grand and final epiphany is simply how very, very little we truly come to ‘know.’ --- b. e. adams (11/4/2014) |

Men say they 'know many things' But lo, they have taken wings All the 'arts' and the 'sciences' and a million 'appliances,' The wind that blows is far, far more than anyone truly 'knows!' As H.D. Thoreau put it ... "all my 'knowledge' (and experience) brings me only ever closer to my ignorance" (particularly about human choices and behavior) |

We certainly aren't around long enough in this puny lifetime to learn much. Just a little peek through the curtain, I would say. Ida |

Yes indeed ! ... and the 'curtain' always 'falls' or closes too quickly on any meager glimpse of the pathways of eternity ... |
