I wish you red,
given what gift
riven from the rouge of kisses
soaked in dream wreckage,

we've no memory of this,
just faith to taste
the florid praries of silence,

you are still my miracle

like a tulip in a black peat bed,
I wish you red, the radiance
of the seconds we've pinched from eternity,

in the anisette hours of ennui,
struggling to be one of body as of heart,
dreaming in heaps of moist roses,

it isn't love if it's incendiary,
it isn't love if it leaves traces

on the skin, a mosaic
of tiny bones shift, a bit
in the heart,given,

what loves, loves to ravish,
lose consciousness, and forget
as it flickers upon the face of beauty,

and is nothing more than a canvas,
open, empty to the hope we covet
in the cantos and chanterelles of owls,

there's love in the fiery river,
there's love in the furious house

and in the hues tulips shed,
candled in earth,

my faith stills, at last,
heaving all of these minuets
into 20 years of wild, red birds.

Deep. Deeply moving. Complex. All of that and more. You don't write poems, Baby Girl, you use the printers inkwell to splash your people and your smells and your inner sanctum onto an unwary, perhaps jaded public. I loved every word, comma, and period of this angst to the nth.

Gosh, this is a lovely way of speaking.
Pure genius in thought, very deep and
captivating in your choice of wording.
Very much enjoyed this poetry of yours.
Home run, BG!!

"The anisette hours of ennui"
"It isn't love if it's incendiary"

Great lines.  Love can be the ultimate pleasure... A satisfaction deeper than the flesh.  Luckily, though, it usually comes with the fleshly rewards anyhow.

Great write.

MsBBBel1e...the devices we solicit to keep the pieces filled beyond stetching, when it is only the ache afterwards that brings us comfort...pleasure vs comfort?
