A Moment of True Love Perhaps in a mystic somewhere long, long ago, I have already lived a full and joyous life with you, as you are she for whom I have been seeking always. Why have we met only in the random twilight now, when hope and future lie ephemeral as the silent fog that shrouds this vanishing forest road to nowhere, and the past is but a sad and lost whirlpool-mirage of fleeting dark and lonely memories. If I could trim and light a thousand lovely trees in these Winter woods tonight beneath the glorious stars and Christmas moon, or pen one of Shakespeare’s finest dreams, they could not begin to match a single moment of true love. --- b. e. adams (for: 12/25/2013) Happy Christmas and best of New Year wishes to all the grand-fine poets of "P.I.P.-land" by the cyber-sea ! Happy Christmas to you too ! |
