One Small Boat By Winter Moonlight

A bright white moon and Venus
ride the wild Winter wind along a
profound evening twilight horizon
toward the vanishing point of Time
above these ancient snowy hills
and their luminous mirror-echo
in this vast, deep forest lake of
rippling dreams and memories.
Here, where only an enchanted tranquility
reigns and sings a wilderness melody
with the mind, heart, and spirit in harmony,
there is infinitely much yet to learn
from a small, empty, abandoned boat
and encircling crystal ice rings in its
final silver sand and driftwood home
amid the ever-shifting shadows and
  delicious melancholy!

There is always something lying around for us to try and delve into its character and demise. Your "small, empty, abandoned boat" is one of those . . .

Melancholy paints a beautiful picture to ponder on, Bruce.
