'Deep-Time' Dreams In random thoughts and distant dreams these ancient rocks of ‘Deep-Time' come alive and speak to some with silent eloquence of a thousand vanished worlds. One hundred millions years is but Gaia’s heartbeat in these ‘endless’ mountain forests. Neither riches and power nor fame and glory matter where the eternally rolling seasons bow to no one. Here, in this Winter valley brim full of silver moonlight, as the wind plays an ageless haunting tune of loss and longing through the willow strings, wisdom and enlightenment may be found in the pursuit of humility, love, compassion, truth, and emptiness. --- b. e. adams (12/8/2013) |

Absolutely! You have given your mountains the sense of itself by paying homage where it is due, Bruce. For centuries the Alleghenies have survived and they will be there long after we are gone. Sorta makes a guy feel a bit humbled. ~*~ If they give you lined paper write sideways. ~*~ |

The oldest part of the Appalachians have been around over 400 million years; however, even that is next to nothing to a 4.6 billion yr. old Earth and a 14 billion yr. old universe! |

I always loved mountains and rocks! They seem so wise, they can teach us so many things! |
