The eyes of the girls
are some caviar
which I savor
at candlelit dinners,
the flame of a candle
on an untied bun,
my forsaken heart
is reflected in the Seine,
pleasure steamers
cross your glance,
the eyes of the girls
are some caviar
which I savor
by excusing me,
cross, cross boats,
on today’s menu
it is written I love you,
the eyes of the girls
are some caviar.

les yeux des filles
sont du caviar
que je savoure
dans les diners à la chandelle,
la flamme d’une bougie
sur un chignon défait,
mon coeur esseulé
se reflète dans la Seine,
des bateaux mouches
parcourent ton regard,
les yeux des filles
sont du caviar
que je savoure
en m’excusant,
passez , passez bateaux,
sur le menu du jour
il y a écrit je t’aime,
les yeux des filles
sont du caviar.
