you say it didn’t happen
fifty-six years ago
you say it
but it did happen
and you know it did

so much can be read into this and somehow I don't think it is something that stems from a happy time

Denial is a morbid coping mechanism, especially when it takes something shared, whether good or bad, and leaves it to the only remaining party left open to the truth.  Some people deny things so strongly for so long that I think they actually, at some point, come to believe the lie... or at least their mind defies them the memory of the truth.  Intriguing.

I believe as do you, that eventually believing a lie so long that you come to not think of it as a lie. Thanks, Michael, for your comments.

A tantalizing mystery. Jerry. The best kind.

Ah, but is it a lie, or as years pass, does it become folklore (depending... of course)? Couldn't help myself, though....

enjoyed...

A lie is a lie, is a lie. I will admit that things become fuzzy over time, Jimmy, but some things linger on. Thanks for being here.
