I’ve been in the depths of misery
It taught me to desire a place in the sun

My life has been full of disappointment
I learned to welcome achievement

I’ve spent many lonely days and nights
My life is complete now that I know love.

Love this poem!

So true my friend! Knowing sorrow leaves a place for great joy. In some of the worst times I have gone through I have felt the most blessed. Contrast is what gives depth and meaning to life.  So much said in so few words!

Well, you put the exclamation point on it with your very informative and descriptive comments. Thank you Lori.

The world sure is a better and brighter place when we know love.  I'm happy for you, Jerry.

Unfortunately (or is it??) in order to recognize (and appreciate) beauty...

...we must meet the beast...

Yeah ... glad you survived, my friend. Glad you've joined the "love" crowd too.

Cool.

Very dual! Each couplet presents well the night and day, the crest and trow, the roller coaster of our existence. And easily so!
