an appearance of dawn
motionlessness the heavens seem
mocking my over-indulgent fantasy
about existence, demise, sleep
are the previous monotonous resonance
of old unchanging thoughts
my inner self harmonious with yours
we are two spirits
if you believe in spirits
we are the endless flourishing entities
within our boundaries

so, here I sit
looking out my window
as the sun creeps into view
wondering if spirits
can break down barriers
and speak with one another
can touch
to feel the pulsating pounding
of two hearts as one

A lovely sentiment, the asking of if two spirits can break down barriers. I believe they can, when we are believers

And I enjoyed it much, if the word "enjoyed" fits that state of my mind.
I mean that there is something in your poem which I can relate to.
Thank you for sharing!

This is beautiful questioning, Jerry. And I do not doubt that spirits can "break barriers". Whoever truly loves, knows this to be true.

Very compelling.
