where the laughing tree never bears fruit
it is just a white shadow in the sky
leaving those black lines on the ground
like they can trace around the hollow

I will always remember your eyes there
they were a highway I often moved into
when I put on my journeying man sleeves
and mentioned my leather was beyond you

you had two hands to hold treasures in
and choices to consider when wasting time
on things that would never be word ravens
captured in the poetry of our recollection

as time spilled through our marching afternoons

Your poems always have movement, and challenge the readers imigination.

Both are very important to me.
Especially when I am faced with everyday
reality.They give me a place to hide.

The metaphore in this one is very tight.

"the laughing tree never bears fruit"

But who cares , as long as it is always filled with flower smiles?

Good stuff, just like your other poems- other places on the net.

Thank you guy for the comment and insight..

few trees are respected for just being trees and not serving a fruit bearing purpose....some of them just bear bare smiles
as this one does often.
