I rambled city streets
wandered the countryside
I've slept in places you wouldn't believe
sown my seed and plundered
what I was missing
was the strength of a woman
a woman's touch
healing power
and eyes bore of history's liberation
for my lost soul
I needed
the feeling of her comfort
the solace of her charm
and her true concerns like a quiet snowfall
and the springtime of her smile
would that she could have lead me
out of my despair
and into the consciousness of my soul
when I would have strayed
too far beyond
when the street life beat me down
and put my life in confusion
grant me the resolve of a woman

What a wonderful tribute to women in this piece Jerry! Some deep thinking here I think.

Some honest thinking at any rate, Lori. Thank you very much for being here this morning.

This is a nice tribute to women, Jerry. I have come to know that it must be the right woman (or man) for the right reasons.

They are far and above us where it counts, for sure, my friend, as long as they're for you and not aganist you.

I enjoyed your poem, Jerry.  The resolve of a woman is harder earned than a man can imagine, but it is good to know that it is recognised, at least, by some.  Smiles.
