IT’S WHAT WE HAVE TO DO
8 January 2013

Sometimes one has to summon
the last vestiges of one’s will power
and turn away
from blue mountain-top horizons
and fragrant forests
and plains begging to be galloped over
and in their place, build cement walls
to protect others from inclement weather.
