The auburn threads of the october fields where a man wedged his pitchfork into the mud with blue spread patches of dirt on each leg, soils great gift His wife Peggy Sue the crock pot, boiling the stew that carried its air through the talent of the night his heart on the side of her hairs crown the way a woman can even a dry mans grin Her small shirt, a little above her belly button with the floral parade of colors that covered the titles of the suns light Little drips of water nicking the bottom of the kitchen sink with the pitch of the faucet running in the background to the sunsets shy departure. |
