here I am sitting in a lovely meadow my blank lined paper waiting for words of wisdom from my muse from my yellow pencil with eraser I've been here awhile trying to get rid of all the noise and clutter in my head and allow the words to come and they will come of that I have no doubt still I'm becoming slightly perturbed there is something in the back of my mind teasingly there refusing to show itself ahhh . . . the meadow is alive with life and color a gentle breeze and inside my thoughts murmuring into my consciousness the words which, up until now has defeated me yes they are there and with pencil in hand I hover it above the lined notebook when . . . darn it to hell a flock of arrogant, bad mannered crows strutting around looking at me and laughing knowing they have chased the words away (c)August 10, 2013 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ What do you call a dinosaur with a extensive vocabulary? I think the outside world chases more than the muse away and what a battle it is to be ... authentic. I'm "resting" at the moment but I know the words will always be there when needed and I'm sure the same applies to you. |

Well I hear you loud and clear and sometimes I just say to them crows "oh, really now?" and write about them. Then they are done for and I can move on to the good stuff. Doesn't always work. But at least I'm not empty handed (I may have a handful of poo...) I think my bird of the day will be grouse, LOL! Lori ![]() |

Blasted crows! For me it would have been an over zealous cawing raven, but either way, I know how deflating it can be to lose that thought just before it's inked. This write was a nice consolation prize though. Kudos. Michael |

Hah! Yeah, I used to pick on the ravens also, Michael, but for some reason I think crows are better nit-pickers and thieves. Thanks for the comment. ~*~ What do you call a dinosaur with a extensive vocabulary? A thesaurus. ~*~ |
