The morning coffee aroma
never fails to arouse me
Albiet it may on occasion
only arouse one eye
halfway open....
It has enticed my bran
out of it's comfy coma
The rich bitterish black
or cream and sugared
first sip close-eyed savored
Cooled to under scalding
for making haste of
that fist eye popping mug
standing by the pot
The first mug mainly medicinal
The second purely for pleasure
and as often as not accompanied
by reading a poem or two
or a start on one of my own

Hah! Since this is the third day that I've gone without coffee I can appreciate this poem more than most. Java, cuppa joe, whatever you call it, it is a wonderful addictive pleasure.

arrrggghhhh! Oh the horrors! You poor poor man! You get that adorable dog of your and march right out your front door and start pan handling for Folgers! (go stand by the grocery store.) Between the two of you charmers you should get lucky

Thank you Blues! Back atcha! It is about 10:30 here and an iced mocha from McDonalds sounds absolutely sinnful. But if I wait till happy hour they are a dollar off... and OMG! look what I have started! AHHHHH!
