I thought she would come to me With fangs bared
Seducing me with emerald-green eyes
A voluptuous body Smelling faintly of brimstone
But no . . .
She came to me with a book of poetry
Wearing glasses and a slight overbite
She said . . .
Reality is the baggage of history our skin simply chameleon-like
changing with the winds of tide.

Jennifer was her name
She took me . . . literally
We did things, unmentionable things
I was a shaken mortal
She smiled and leaves a drop of blood
Upon my prone body
Replenish this
I'll return sooner than later
if the moon isn't too bright.

I awake at daybreak
The images of the night before
Gone, like Tara, in the wind
I see the droplet of blood
It has dried
Its nutrients dead
But it has to be replenished
So it was said by Jennifer
I slept all day drapes tightly closed
Awoke at the first black of night
Prowling the streets
To replenish the blood supply.
