THE SILENCE OF SOUNDS 3 August 2013 It was the way the night wind broke up the silence into pockets of longing; and for solace and understanding her eyes caressed the wall of books all known and loved on the other side of her yellow-wooded desk; and she filled the desolate silences between the dirges of the wind’s mournful singing, with their beloved words. I know that kind of setting and the feelings all-too-well (particularly the joy and comfort of books and poetry of course) ... v. well 'penned' indeed! |

On those nights, the company of great literature will soothe the soul, with the wind's accompaniment. I can see the picture most vividly; it's a lovely one |

Such lovely places, books are. Most of my free time is spent in them, and on occasion, they lull me in to the best nights sleep. Beautiful write. |
