Rare is the being who escapes life unscathed The aborted perhaps But even then God only knows trauma shows in vitro Even born of feeble mind lacking the sense to be offended can know hunger and fear Silver spoons won't spare innocents from abuse and exploitation Even the unconditionally loved can be devastatingly scarred by that love's passing Scathing is life's chisel carving out statues in our marred stones LGR(C)7/28/13 |

This is a hardcore approach to the problem of being scarred from whatever it is that touches people in the bad way. I agree, some people are scarred more than others perhaps, but a scar is still a scar. Good, deep write, Lori. ~*~ Getting up is the second hardest thing in the morning ~*~ |

Yes, no faltering at the end with a punch line this time Jerry. Thanks for the observation. Lori |

Indeed we are all "chiseled" to some extent... "a mile in someone elses moccasins" comes to mind when I read this. A reminder that sometimes our own experiences, or lack of them, leave us prejudiced in our beliefs of how others should be. Very thought provoking and enjoyable read. Michael |
