Soon as you hit the road
I'm getting ready to party hard
I'm gonna get my hair put up
and clothes just right
and wait for the music to start
then I'm gonna get down and dirty

I'm gonna get my groove on
and start grabbing ashtrays
right and left
washing and putting
those nasty things out of sight

Then I'm headed for your “pocket change”
you know those little things
that sneak into the house like nuts and bolts
nails, bullets, batteries, gaskets, gauges and lint
grab it up and out it to the garage

While I'm getting into the beat
of my favorite band
Your dirty boots will be in my hand
headed for the door
with their waffle droppings of dirt

Yeah, I'm gonna get down and dirty
while you are far away and gone
I'm gonna wipe and wash
you clean out of this place
All except for your pillow

Oh boy, Lori, this is a fantastic, GREAT poem. You get us to leaning one way and then whiplash us as you about face and take us on an altogether different journey that we expected. The last line? A doozy.

I agree IceBox, that is why I was returning them to point of origin in the garage. I hate finding them in the washer or dryer.
