Yet and Still

Perhaps it was the July heat
that sealed their wedding vows
Or a o double ringed commitment
from where their concrete grows
They have locked arms and horns
for fifty-seven years
All those months, weeks, days
hours, minutes and moments
made together in love
Devotion dances within them
yet and still

Whatever it took, their bonding took. They are of the generation which refused to divorce at the drop of a perceived insult. They maintain. They fought the battle because they loved each other and refused to give that love up.

Thanks Jerry-
I am very fortunate to have such great parents. Their devotion is no more evident than it is today with Mom's Alheimer's. It is a beautiful thing to see. I'm just sorry that since Mom broke her hip her mobility is so limited. Today is their Anniversary. Going out to The Olive Garden for supper to celebrate.
