Ah,
cold bitter apathies,
memories
of hatreds' horrors decorating trees,
miseries
broken dreams of dawn,
singulars,
multitudes,
generations
swallowing harsh acid taste
of years' long empty seconds
watching children
left to waste;

uglies flail their ancient claws,
gates of Hell have prissy jaws
even old Beelzebub wears lace;

watch the spreading forearm fields,
rankly rosy kiss,
maps to modern treasure troves
of vacillating jests,
the lost, the cost,
to know the frost
is laughter's blackest bite,
the barred,
scarred
tarred and feathered,
glaring at the white.

My goodness, Charly, your words are as sharp as a knife that explores the wounds of this modern world, when we don't close our eyes to all the abhorrent things that happen.

To take notice is the first step to react. You reacted with a masterful poem that invites us to awaken and act to improve and heal what can be improved and healed.

Excellent work.

Excellent direction this poem took, especially today with all eyes focused at one particular spot. There is a transparency within the lines that cause me to nod my head and wonder if it will ever end. Thank you for your insightful poem.

Depicted this masterfully!  Changes...some too fast and some much too slowly...
