been down many roads I don't apologize for any of them I used to I don't anymore what's done is done can't be undone I've walked those cities' streets and felt the callousness of the neon blitz I look back not in a prideful way although I'm proud I survived that neon blitz I've stood on the edge of the world only to wind up back under the neon blitz over two decades living that life searching for the measure of me in all-night diners broke sipping slowly on coffee trying to make contact searching out eyes as desperate as mine sometimes I connected she and I went through our get acquainted spiel both had perfected our individual shtick our desperate needs would soon lead to desperate intimacy tomorrow would come much too early ©June 20, 2013 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

loneliness is a desparate state of affairs and it is palpable in this piece. Raw in its honesty. Glad you are a million miles from there now. Lori ![]() |
