Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I am weary
The daily battle
to meet expectations
has gone on
much too long
Fatigue sucks
the life out of me
My comforts
have all become poison
Too easy today
to raise the white flag
of surrender
and succumb
to the abyss

That is so sad, Lori. Life can beat us down, I am aware of that, but somewhere, somehow, I hope you find the way out of the Abyss.

Thanks, my friend,
I'm feeling better, my morning distraught has improve to a tolerable. It took some affirative action on my part (as always in such situations) but I got things turned around. Now, if someone else will worry about fixing a healthy dinner and I can watch a comedy that makes me laugh outloud
I might end the day feeling (dare I say it?) good! Relatively speaking, of course. I appreciate your concern.

Lori - I believe you've homed in on the frustration of us all, that grind that wears us down and saps us. Ironic how the human spirit often gathers more strength overcoming such things. Keep the faith Lori. There are always options before surrrender. You're stronger than you think. Namyh

Summer is not always good for you, my dear. While it should be spent with children and katydids and languid moments, you deal a little better when away from such serenity, and with others who keep your mind busy. I am but a phone call away and hey, I need a break too.

Sunshine call me when you are free. This has been a difficult summer so far. But I seem to find a way to pull it out of my back pocket in the nick of time. I know it could be worse. Writing has been a Godsend and I can't thank you enough for your support of my work.

Namyh, So true. And they say if your feet hurt, your whole body hurts...In other words whatever is ailing you can easily take over your whole focus. Thanks for commenting.

EmmaRose, those are wiae words that all will be well again... Important ones to remember during those times your head is trying to tell you something all together different.  Thank God I have people in my life who depend on me, they are life savers.

Nice...I wrote one about the abyss but it is political and I probably won't post it...I call the Globilization that was forced upon us by a government that didn't ask for our opinion or didn't look for the will of the people to be the "Abyss"...James

I have given myself to that abyss many times... I think it's flawed though, for I always come back around at a later date and time and feel somewhat abashed for the effort.  I know giving up really takes no effort, but I think you know what I mean.  Somehow things that seem dark, dreary, and completely unsurmountable one day can suprisingly drop in magnitude of importance with just a little passed time, even to a point of not being able to believe you saw them the way you did.  I'm hoping this will be the case with you, cause if you keep writing dark stuff, than I might have to start writing sun shiny stuff...  and we know that ain't gonna fly.

James, I can relate to the feeling of government hitting that slippery slope of self-serving dysfunction to  the point of no return. It is an abyssmal thought. Thanks for commenting

Michael thank you for your understanding words. But I bet if push came to shove you could squeeze out a happy haiku if you had to even in a no fly zone (you have too much talent not to.)  I know it is not your manna of choice.
