Gecko Geek (fun times)

Gecko Geek
thought he was neat
climbing all over the wall
never so much of a fall
strutting around like
he couldn't be found
in any one room of the house
quiet as a mouse
except the times he let out
his gecko call
Gecko seemed to
think he was cool
or maybe even sweet
but I thought
he was a geek
cause he enjoyed hanging
around my computer
and a few times
I caught him watching TV
during that Geico commercial.
One time I felt a litle uncomfortable
and I looked up on the wall
and gecko was staring at me
or maybe he was just watching TV,
its hard to tell the precise
direction of his eyeballs,
honestly I can't read his mind
but sometimes I chase him
all over the house and we
both seem to be having
a fun time.

I adore my gecko who owns the area of my balcony and runs around on the walls in search of mosquitos. Every evening I check if he is there. When I spot him I thank him for protecting me from the bites ...

I enjoyed your fun poem about your own gecko Geek, you wrote it so well. You have a great friend there.

Rather have geckos than mice! Unlike my cat, if a gecko runs across the keyboard it doesn't alter the text. LOL!

Love it, love it, love it, James! I adore geckos and it was a family tradition in my childhood, that every gecko was called Oscar and I have carried on the tradition with my human and gecko children. (Just to make it clear, my human children have their own names, lol!) So, if you ever meet a gecko who tells you his name is Oscar, you can be sure he grew up in my home!
