so I can believe the now unseen
that speaks of love in grandiose terms
and makes me bow to the call.

there’s merit in all suffering
that twists this life into a knot
and tightens it every day.

so I can believe my perceptions are real
and not from the depths of fantasy
that holds delusion as paramount.

Make me a miracle so I can believe
each tear ever shed will be counted
and credit given for heartache and grief
forced into all human hearts.

so I can believe, really believe,
there’s a good and important reason
why I did and do truly love you.

Please make a miracle!

Aww Helen, the pain and suffering we "lovers" put ourselves through is boundless. After all these centuries you would think we would have gotten a handle on this love thing. What happens to us after the "I do's" is heartbreaking for the moat part. One or the other, maybe both, suddenly believe they are the lords and masters and throw out how we felt during our courtship days. It is truly sad, down to the bone sad.

I've been told that when you expect a miracle,
it will manifest. I wonder if we could actually put
a date on it? Anyway, I enjoyed your heartfelt poem.

I do believe in miracles, also in the small everyday miracles that help us to believe in a Supreme Conductor. I love the outcry of your heart here, dear Helen, very intense.
