(For Nancy, whose Mother passed as I was writing this poem) It is hard to feel blessed as you sit there waiting with her for God and time to take her Even though you know it is exactly what she wanted... Nothing holding her back when it is time to go It is hard to feel blessed as you sit there waiting with her to have conversations they say she can hear with no responses Even though you know you have said all those things you needed your Mom to know It is hard to feel blessed as you have this time together thinking each night is her last before she joins your Dad Even though you thought she'd be gone by now and you wonder why she stays It is hard to feel blessed when your Mom is gone now too Until you remember just how much she loves you LGR(C)6/17/13 |

My, my, Lori, this is precious. Such a wonderful poem and written so profoundly and so in-depth. You brought her and her daughter together in this beautiful poem as they actually have been over the long days. I only wish she could have read it, but then, maybe she can. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I believe they can "read" the heart Jerry. Thank Jerry for your kind comments. Lori |

Thank you Gale! Yes it was heartfelt. To me, Nancy is very blessed, her Mother was sharp as a tack before she had the massive stroke and passed away. I am slowly losing my mother to Alzheimer’s. Lori |
