Most likely a moon dance
with the harvest, sublime
though as seasons have tallied
the portrait both dims and magnifies
in the vision combined of schoolgirl
and mid aged eyes

tall as an oak, even moreso at that
Autumn festival, shoes kissing shoes
in a whirl of "swing your partners"
do-si-dos, and promendades, proud and
gawky with my lefts upon his rights

at the girlscout jubilee
with my very first dance partner
the special man in my life

he bowed, and I courtsied
my daddy, my hero,
at my very first square dance
on that magical night.

Thank you Kit. Father's Day coming soon, looking at cards today, which I can no longer send.

Ah, such a lovely write with the greatest sentiment in the world, the love a girl has for her father. It is very special and I am so very sorry that I missed out on it.

This is absolutely gorgeous and delightful. Indeed the dream of every girl.

Personally I didn't get the chance, as my Dad went to dance in heaven long before I was a teenager. But I was told he was a good waltz dancer and I loved this dance too ...

Hugs.

My daughter thought she was Madonna and copied every move from the age of 3...very hard for a Dad to dance

Very beautiful, EmmaRose.  Makes me wish that my parents were parents . . . But I am glad that your Dad was a Dad.
