I watched the sun today

I watched the sun today
And thought of you
Those bygone days
Near seagull cliffs
And rolling waves
Those golden sands
Soft guitar riffs
The sound of surf
A rock pool world
A distant laugh
And time did fly
When you were young.

I watched the sun today
To chase the stars
So far away
Another day
One you might say
Like many others
Or so it seemed
But precious too
One you should hold
Keep in your mind
This precious time
Soon flies away

I watched the sun today
Until it set
Soft in the West
And creeping dusk
Geese homeward bound
A vintage held
On soft red lips
The evening chill
Reminds me still
Wine glasses touch
And will we watch
The sun again

Oh, how beautiful.  I could feel the love in this.  So enjoyed.

Such emotion comes through this gem with every word you penned. Wonderful poetry.

Heart warming beginning to end and honeysuckle sweet.  I loved it!
