Goodbyes You said you loved me then you said goodbye As one more magic moment reached its end. Alone and saddened, left to wonder why A heart so broken tends to slowly mend. Goodbyes are only anchors of despair For one who finds his freedom in your smiles. Your absence leaves me destitute and bare And starving for a sample of your wiles. Eternities as empty seconds spent As time becomes a mystic memory. Restored when loneliness at last relents And brings, with you, the end to misery. Such overwhelming magnitude of loss To never know when next our paths may cross. |

It is a sad and lonely life when this occurs, David. Thank goodness the human spirit is adaptable and though it may take a while, you will again rejoin the living. ~*~ PMS jokes aren't funny, period. ~*~ |

This is a beautifully expressive poem, David, although heartrending with grief. I can truly relate to this in so many ways. Excellent work. Michael |
