The Ice Queen |

She stands there Like a Queen among men A paralyzing Beauty Casts a spell without a word Commands with a cold indifference Shields her cryogenic heart What is Beauty without emotion But a marble statue A frozen hand An empty ocean A storm without a thunder A flower without a scent Tell me – would you trade Some of your beauty For a flicker of a flame? On my extended hand I offer my crimson passion But your ice quenches all Like the Sphinx Was once perfection Sand slips thru fingers Beauty returns To the dunes of the past The heart turns to vapor It dissipates Warming no one… CG |
