I

was once

a muse

and I

gave wings to words

like butterflies

that dizzy dance

was my inspire

and I can rest now

satisfied

gin rummy

and some baccarat

sitting stout

and proudly fat

with others of my kind

behind

fans of cards

and glee-smug "gin"

I swap tales with courtesans

aged

and remembering

my ways of art

now legend

in

my mind--

I play the game,

toss off my heart

desirous

of a spade...

sounds good to me. a fair exchange, though your poetry is always a delight, but
whatever gets you though the night, it's alright, alright.

Emma? I so respect your talent. All of your words are precious to me, so the fact that you spent some on me is rather humbling.

Thank you for you generosity.

As someone said once . . . Somewhere . . . Sometime . . . "Loverly" . . .

This is fantastic! But, well, I can't place you really where you actually placed yourself ... you do not fit in, as those wings are, well, still perfectly FIT!

You soar... desire is a good propeller!

Stopping by the "muse" retirement home...

"Road Trip Anyone???"

(BTW, It's the best place Ever for inspiration).

A really really fun poem. Enjoyed!

I would love to sit and chat with a "muse" such as yourself, Karen.

Thank you all so much for reading.

Not my usual non-meter meter, but I'm trying to break out of the non-mold of free verse. *wince*

Still not making much sense, but I think I might have started a fad. (in my neighborhood, at least)

*hearthugs* and gratitude
