we are the destruction of style we annihilate all rules and control we, then are free poets of our time somewhat dishonestly challenge life find life uncomplicated placing our hand on a crossword puzzle book our own holy word write words sans revered implication remove all erudite airs like the pole dancer disrobes we are naked before the old ones face-to-face with Whitman Wilde and Lord Bryon we throw our hands up as Teasdale, Sarah appears bending our knees to the literary ghosts' of the past imploring forgiveness for trashing poetical thoughts and are stunned when these poets laugh loudly we beg even harder for forgiveness then cease and desist and are quite solemn bloodied from tip-to-toe remembering when our bodies pristine glowed thinking of ecstasy and bliss trying to coax it from the shadows we, then, uncork a bottle of cheap California burgundy wistfully think love can really be ours we, then call back lovely smiles when we looked at life with passionate hearts wish silently for the return of our Muse bow our heads, accept her directive thank her for her wisdom and carry on ©February 13, 2013 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |

Poets are the most sensitive...most passionate people...always exposing themselves to the world...or are we just exhibitionists down deep? Enjoyed your words Jerry as you are always in touch with reality and fantasy. ~Victoria I was adored once too. |

Yeah, you right, Victoria. Poets are vulnerable to say the least. And that part about being exhibitionists? Could very well be. Thanks for stopping by. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |
