time undergoes a cleansing
blurring treachery and responsibility
like a legally blind person
reading the Constitution
he see it
but not the cracks within
for time blurs our understanding
but the pulsating drone
heard from the great unwashed
to corrupt cities and beyond
are in accord
and
resound in agreement
seeing the cracks
leading us into a ruthless way of life
finally
maybe too late
maybe not
the country is awakening
to Houdini-like trickery
the second hand of
the coming peril
ticks away
slowly
without stopping

a democracy cannot exist
as a permanent form of government
when the voters
discover they can vote
themselves largess out of the
public treasury
—Alexander Fraser Tytler

maybe
just maybe
a light is being shined
through the closed drapes
of professional politics
maybe, just maybe
the urge to throw the bums out
has never been stronger

Interesting thoughts...it seems to me with the re-election of you know who that the majority in this country have chosen another dose of dependence over independence...James
