I think of kidnapping you
and locking you
inside the meters of my poetry
you'd be in every phrase
of every poem
I would write, imprisoned
within the difficult to make coherent
the sonnets
ahhh . . . you would shine there
I'd take you with me
to the Mardi Gras (Throw me something, Mister!)
Even in the raunchiest villanelle
(Show me yer . . .)
a prisoner of mine you would be
inside a love-struck poem
that's where you'd really find your fame
explaining to the world
how much I really do love you
if it rained we'd go puddle splashing buck necked
during the Tarpon Rodeo
down in Grand Isle
you'd capture those fishermen's hearts
only briefly though
for you are mine
all mine in the words of this poem
when we were alone together
I'd play the oboe for you
(I'd take lessons)
a special love song I had written
just for you
yes, I think of kidnapping you
and locking you
inside the meters of my poetry

It sounds like you really know how to have a good time Jerry...enjoyed reading this cute poem of mardi gras and oboes and kidnapping. Enjoyed.

Good morning, Victoria, and thank you for being here with me. I'm a little under the weather this morning. Again, thanks for the read and comments.

Jerry, unless you're writing from another's perspective (which I doubt) you seem (over last few poems and especially this one) well smitten, my friend.  Either way, this is one of your all time best in my opinion.

Well done, my friend

You'd be right about the smitten thoughts, jimmy. Thank you for your observation and the very nice comments on my poem . . .
