Alone Beyond a pallid winter sunset, past the mystic twilight of that uncertain hour, empty, traceless shadows walk these midnight streets of discontent and broken promises beneath a cold-indifferent moon, scattering memories with the ashes of burnt roses, and chanting that saddest refrain of all who have ever loved ... and walked alone. --- b. e. adams (2/15/2013) |

It is a perfect poem, Bruce. Being alone myself I can certainly relate but, you know, it's just one of those little things in life that will pass sooner than we think. Enjoyed! Helen |

Bruce, You write "lonely" with so much yearning. I love how you weave nature with your emotions. This piece is beautiful. Alison |
