When a moment comes of no recall freedom grips the soul for after all the past is gone and ne’er will come again. But just a moment, yes, indeed for the heart would backward go, and remember till no break of day brings the present into play. With no reins made to tie the sun down on the other side each day the heart must learn again to put the past aside. It learns each second, minute, hour, of each long living day but unlike mind it cannot ever gain a passing mark. The heart, therefore, a drop-out lives to beat to what was good and the soul just sits and waits for a moment of freedom! Helen / 15 February 2012 |

Very good wordplay in this, a sorta sad plight of the heart and problematic things of the past. Still, it must do its job and deal with the past if there is, indeed, a future to be had. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

really enjoyed this, the feel of a ticking clock, memories of times past. Michael |

"The heart, therefore, a drop-out lives to beat to what was good and the soul just sits and waits for a moment of freedom!" Yes, but we have a need to experience something new, so while we wait, we search, we think, and watch, then we catch the wind and we fly, and that makes freedom, freedom. Like the sea birds... ![]() JL ![]() Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Maranatha! |

Some powerful emotion wrapped up in this one. A heart forcing itself to move forward even though it aches for something past, and a soul whose only ambition is to be freed of the body enslaving it. Wow. All I can say is I can relate to this on a very personal level. Nicely done. Michael |

Thank you all so much! I'm still getting settled after being away from home for a year but I hope to soon be here more often. Helen |

each day the heart must learn again to put the past aside. Oh, how very true - it's Groundhog's Day, over and over and over! I identify strongly with this... and really like it! Excellent write! |
