Yesterdays' Tomorrow (Valentines Remembered) Pajama cuffs torn, things kept too long become worn - like me, frayed , becoming unraveled, not remembering to stay where I was. Doorways beckon - and a heart that was always drawn outdoors, remembers too, tomorrow is Valentines Day, and though I forgot her birthday, our anniversary , never, ever, did Valentines pass by unknown. Doorways beckon - but cold, wood floors remind bare feet - socks, yes, socks for outside. Strings hanging from my cuffs, when where they put there, saw them yesterday too . . . hmmm, I like the style. Socks . . . in my hand? Where was I . . .? Must be dirty. I'll just set them here to wash. Oh, tomorrow's Valentines Day . . . I think - now where did I put that card I went for yesterday . . . Pajama cuffs torn, things kept too long become worn, frayed , unraveled, not remembering . . . yesterdays' tomorrow. © wesley james beard, jr. february 2012 |

For a moment I was looking in a mirror... You know how to make the simplest of thought so important, to be aware of. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

This is a wonderful poem, which I relate to in many ways.. "Doorways beckon - and a heart that was always drawn outdoors" There it is, a heart drawn to the outdoors is going to forget to remind the brain to remind the hands to cut off the tattered strings..but this poem comes from that heart....thats the important part it did not forget. Thats why my wife has to cut the strings from my old clothes.I don't see them...lol I enjoyed this poem very much.. Thank you Jim-wesley |

It may be the thought that counts... but hanging onto those thoughts gets tough! *S* I loved this tender write! |
