In the deep dark of the night I often find my soul alight with mem'ries of a broken past of times I thought would always last the beach comes back, water glistening and there we sat, I listening to the softness of your voice when at its sound I did rejoice or to that special ferris wheel stuck at the top with a kiss to steal our eyes enticed time to stop a kiss impossible to ever top or to the night our souls a'fire we loved, embraced, never to tire when morning's sun unwillingly did shine still yours was I, as you were mine or to the day when I took flight deep-down knowing how bad our plight the fabric of love beginning to tear a distance too far for our romance to bear the day comes back, tears glistening and there we sat, I listening to you say we were no more and in a moment my heart you tore Tonight's the night a blizzard blows my soul extinguished, smothered in snow where once was warmth there is only cold where once my partner, there is none to hold So now I do my damnedest try to carry on since I cannot cry to an unknown future time will attest if only I lay these mem'ries to rest |
