She felt the small touch of the roses bottom
the one under the small plot of dirt
that her mother use to dig her hands into
until the crevasses of her hands
became small white blemishes
next to the rays of the sun
that shun down over her crouched body.

She wore her favorite floral patterned dress
seemingly easy, seamed perfectly along her hips
with the midsection a bit faded, worn in
leaving the  summers run
a ways off from country road
into a garden, a small rose
that touched the roots of her feet
up to where her hands felt
the paths of dirt, winding around
to a garden that we all have seen before
even when the wind speaks under
its earnest breath of the clouds slow wake
under the suns rise, each and every day.

It's refreshing to read  unpretentious honesty, a good write.
