Sculpting Myself into Faith

Icy rain tapping glass
       Les Mis via Pandora
blessed I am
peaceful I feel
hopeful in new beginnings

Centering, centering
mentoring middle
melodies and mood streams

manufacturing ways to
word shop a work shop
poetic literal beginnings

to young people
this coming Thursday.

Oh God. I spoke ‘yes’ too soon,
do they really want me?
I’m still a beginner…

I’ve only been writing consistently
for 13 years and that is nothing
compared to others. I’ve been writing
since age seven, with fearful hope.

What do I have to share with them?
Scared, nervous, anxious,
anticipation governs my every moment

but wait! What if, what if I admit
to all of this,
like Jean Val Jean, raise my head
and read well, and true, and proud

who am I?

Not recognized by many,
but in my own heart
Yes, I am a poet.

That's great, dear Karilea! Love the title and how you develop this topic.

Yes, you ARE a poet and they will be fascinated with your approach to them, they will notice your inner light through your sunny smile. Never compare yourself to others, you are UNIQUE and you will know how to share your gift.

Hugs.

Let us know how it goes.

I guess I have been writing  steadily although not  recently  for the lst 13 years or so also.

Lately I  have been reorganizing  my poems and  it is funny ( not  ha ha)that I don't even remember  most of what I wrote and wonder where it all came from.

Good Luck ( although I am sure you won't need it) on your newest adventure.

"in my own heart
Yes, I am a poet."

Yes, you are that for sure!
But I think there is no need to sculpt;
no, and you are right to say faith, that
is all it takes.
You will do just fine!

We (poets) can most definitely recognize your concept here. I consider a young six-year-old lad drawing what his young mind things is a heart for his lady-love who is six-and-a-half. A heart to the little lady love has forever branded the your poet as just that; is he doomed, or will millions read his critiques, poetry-wise of lost puppy love. I meandered a bit I think, hope you can ma
ke sense of all this gibberish.

Margherita, thank you ever so much as ever for your kind words. I've missed being at Passions and hope to help this place regain its liveliness as there are times I come to read, and it seems like so many are elsewhere. I see many on Facebook, but I think, like many things, virtual communities such as Passions will spark to life once again!

Maureen, I will most definitely let you know how things go. I'm so looking forward to this workshop. I have two more possible dates to carry it forward...if I am a hit tomorrow, I may get to fulfill two more occasions. Nothing better than sharing, right?

JL...thank you, but I think like most anything, one should never be satisfied with what was today; there should always be enough room in a soul [mine] to learn more, strive more, surround more. But you are kind to think as you do, and I bless you for your thoughts.

James...from your thoughts to God's eye. Bless you!

JP, I think you and I have, over time, developed a fairly good understanding of our poetic selves, and writers as well. I look forward to getting a copy of your newest novel! You always make sense to me!

Thoughts of a "debut-ist" for certain, yet interlaced are the leveling thoughts of a person of faith. They make all the difference.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
