Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

January’s cold heated
By fire burning hot and bright
A poem flitted
Grab a pencil
Take a note
Too late – it is gone
Over before it started
As ashes blew like thoughts
Away with the wind

Oh, I hate that.  If I had a dollar for every poem that slipped away like that I could retire early.

Happens to me all the time. On the up side, you got a poem from it.

ARGGHHH Alison! That is the worst part of poetry all the ones that get away.
I love this.

Oh poet friends ~ thank you all for understanding.  It's great to be among you and know that simple frustrations are understood and shared.  It's all good.  Yes?  For every poem we forget - there's another lurking in our minds waiting to be written.

How did this one slip by me? Yes, all of us can relate to this tale of the forgotten thoughts.

Good God, girl,

that is just how it is...

sometimes we are allowed to remember...

sometimes...it was just a lesson.

Story of my life! Though I wouldn't ever be able to pen the experience so gracefully, I'd probably use a lot of curse words, lol.
