The Wrong Side... Woke up 'the wrong side of the bed, Clear thought eluding cloudy head... Set to face another day of dread, I simply close my eyes. Can't wash anxiety away, (Set to plague me throughout the day); For all my life it's been this way, Hope dancing with demise. This wish, it fell before full known – A child hiding in shadows, thrown To a world of spite, and hate, alone... Appreciation but never Granted these eyes that darkness stole. Drug on, further through this black hole, Till, robed in ash, awoke the soul 'The wrong side of forever. Can't slow down that river of thought – Of all I held in life, for naught – Of all the pain effort, alone, has wrought... And what have I to keep? The love of life, once thought anointed, Leaving me nothing but disjointed, In disillusion, self-appointed, Coming at the price of sleep. And still this world demands more, So out trudge I for the encore... Paying no attention to odds, to score; Again, just close my eyes. As, somewhere, a boy lost in dream, Watching the stars in heaven gleam, Will never have a chance to scream As pitch black grow his skies. Michael Anderson Death's but a path that must be trod, |

quote: Eh, I would say that you have more to keep than you realize, Michael. Still, not knowing all your circumstance, I will defer. When you get to going with your poetry it is like seeing magic on the monitor. Your delivery and rhyming patterns are precise and excellent. I admire your talent, buddy . . . ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Michael, I realized after I read this poem that I was leaning towards the screen, savoring every word. I forgot to breath. Thank you. Alison |

You mean there is a 'right' side of the bed?? Dang! I have to re-look at mine and see where it is. Lots and lots of bridges, my friend, and always different from the other side which basically eliminates turning around... Good write as usual.. j. |
