Maybe Tomorrow I used to blame procrastination For things I'd not gotten around to. Now, looking back on life undone, I see more at work here, it's true. I think of talent(s) I posess - Of all that lies in me unfurled, The passions, the desires, and have to confess I know that I could change the world... ...And think I will, yes, come first light You'll see these passions manifest. In all I say and do, wrong or right, You'll have me at my gleaming best. To build my shrine, day in, day out, Ever adding new feat. and fable, That come one day, there'll be no doubt Of what I could do, or if I was able. And so I lay, wistful in thought, Of glories out there to achieve, While hours pass and Sleep finds me not, Nor grants reason to disbelieve. Till sun greets sky, time having come To change this life been plagued with sorrow. But finally, like a soothing hum, Sleep captures me. Maybe tomorrow... Michael Anderson 8/21/12 Did I waste it? Not so much I couldn't taste it. Bono |

I love this Michael. My favourite part is the whole thing, minus both the "if" in the fourth stanza and the "maybe" in the last. Smiles. Owl |

A lot of self introspection here, Michael. I do that off and on, it helps me to understand things a lot better. I really liked this poem, the is a glimmer of light throughout it. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Wow, dear Michael, how accurately you render that tremendous ever present feeling of not living up to our potential. Excellent write. Margherita |

An introspective look with a light-hearted feel... I love this!! And I love it more knowing how your pen seeks the dark. This particular subject is one that would have plummeted me into the deep, for when I explore possibilities, I'm usually convinced I would have failed. *S* Hey, it works for continuing the procrastination! Being basically an introvert and without much confidence all my life, you can imagine how pegging this piece was. Excellent, my friend. j. |

Thank you all for the kind replies. Jwesley, yup... you're not alone, my friend. Ruth, lol... It's not procratination, that would make it my fault in a manner of thinking... Nope, I will forever point the finger at insomnia, and thereby remain blameless. ![]() Michael |
