Sad Goodbyes Sad goodbyes stealing away reflected in rear view drifting to blue like a soul lost of hopes I try I will always try to get back to you Forest trail devil tail pointing only one way darkening the day like a spirit tearing down the sail still I will sail to get back to you Thorns prick and roses fall and I've got no name to call when these nights sparkle and fade these plans I made built upon the foundation of loving you in hopeless times I hope for something true You color in the little moments I often forget to see dotting the highway side of my life spent in a dream the blue and grey mingles with effortless, unrequited pain but far better to feel this way than let you slip down the drain and try to move on, to reset and restart impossible to do a rock impossible to move stuck sharply in the side of my heart Sad goodbyes steering me around the water drain drifting into blue like a soul drunk on dreams I try I will always try to get back to you Happy hellos falling from my parted lips balanced on a fingertip like a kite upon a massive storm I must have been born to get back to you Memories thick of the fall October was worth it all when those nights shimmered like stars cold breath in the car hands clasped through this time in dreamless times I only dream of you You color in the jagged borders of my lonely days helping me to see the light in the folds of grey the blue from the grey sky falling over me in my bed and for better or worse I live only inside my worried head and I can't go back to feelings untrue to try a different tack and stare into a newer face an unthinkable footstep away from you Sad goodbyes stealing away reflected in rear view drifting to blue like a soul lost of hopes I try I will always try to get back to you I will always try to fly and get back to your side.
